Who's the Sphinx?

Hi, I'm Georgina Holmes!

I am fascinated by the journey of our species: Homo Sapiens. From our split from chimpanzees and evolution, to the first civilisations and innovations that got us where we are today.

Alongside archaeology and anthropology, life on Earth is something I find incredibly interesting. The emergence of life, changing climate through time and fauna and flora of the past and present can teach us all something about our own species, as well as the world we live in.

I am the sole founder and content creator of Sphinx Thinks - the website, articles, podcasts and media are all my own. I wanted to create a platform that's accessible, interesting and can provide the content and information I have always wanted to see and learn about!

Sphinx Content

I have such a wide variety of interests in past life and archaeological topics that it's difficult to choose a favourite!

I also want to be able to create content which appeals to different people's passions.

As a result, Sphinx Thinks will be creating a platform which aims to cover as many topics as we can in many different forms of media.

I certainly want to showcase topics which I think are under-acknowledged or there is a lack of information on. For example, archaeology in Oceania such as Polynesia and Australia. Over time, I hope to build up enough knowledge about all these possible explorations to create accessible content and translate what I have learnt!
